Liberty Church will not be meeting at the Carnegie Room Thetford until further notice.
We are excited to launch our connect groups online. If you are already in a group, you will be sent a link by your group leader or you can reach out to them directly. If you are looking to join a connect group please visit the Connect page.
A new building has been made available for Foodbank, to us to help with the increasing need in our community, and to enable volunteers to work safely, keeping 2 metres apart.
MESSAGE FROM PHIL & STEPH
Hi Liberty Church,
Firstly, we regret we have not been able to contact you all sooner, but our time has been completely taken up with responding to the emergency foodbank situation. We have been preparing now, for the unknown weeks ahead. Now we have made those preparations we plan to be in contact with you all more regularly over the coming days, weeks and months.
Secondly, we would like to let you know that we miss you all greatly and are sad that we are unable to meet together as normal. But, despite being isolated from each other physically, it does not mean we have to be isolated from each other socially or spiritually. We are one body, one family, and just like a family in tough times we should pull together more: looking out for the needs of others, above our own. If you need support, please make sure you lean on your connect group. Do not do it alone. If you are not in a connect group or need further support then please do contact us directly at email@example.com.
Lastly, we know things are unsure for all of us right now. This whole situation is unknown to the entire planet. But one thing we know for sure, the situation is NOT unknown to our Father in Heaven. We can boldly live out each day, not filled with fear, but filled with faith. We have heard recently, “Our purpose is often hidden in the unknown” so let us make the most of every opportunity to demonstrate the love of God to those who we may have contact with. In doing so we may fulfil our God given purpose of going into all the world and preaching the gospel to all creation. What better way than to be contagious with your good and godly response to this crisis.
We love you all.
Phil, Steph (Joel, Ava, Skyla and bump)
In response to the latest Government decisions, we have postponed what he had planned for our “Live Online Sunday Services.” This is to minimize contact between households as instructed by the Government. It would take a team of people to bring you a high-quality Online Experience, so to minimize contact between individuals, we will postpone this content until the guidelines are relaxed. However, Phil and Steph will be producing some online content for us all in the coming days. So stay tuned in and like us on social media to keep up with the latest developments.
Things are extremely busy at Foodbank. Our pastoral and foodbank team have been working tirelessly to step up to meet the needs of our community.
Despite Stocks being desperately low in the last week due to the food accessibility issues, we have managed to purchase food stocks in bulk from a number of suppliers. Our wonderful volunteers have also managed to sort it into emergency food boxes for our community to access over the coming weeks.
The foodbank, as an essential service, will continue to operate throughout this crisis with a skeleton team. Rest assured, we as the church, will do everything we can to feed the hungry in our community for as long as we are needed.
If you would like to help support us in these efforts, the best way, at this time, is to give financially. You can give online HERE or via BACS using these details:
Bank Details: LCFC – Thetford Foodbank
Account Number: 20338368
Sort Code: 30-98-58
We are looking into different platforms for meeting ‘virtually’ to provide safe environments for every one to continue to connect, more information will come directly from your groups leaders / hosts in the next few days. For now, make sure to check in with others in your connect groups - are any self-isolating? Do they need anything from shops/prescriptions? Do they just need a chat? We aren’t just a church by name, we are the body and need to look after one another, to stay healthy as a whole. If you are healthy and able, you could also extend that support to neighbours in your street. Pop a card through a neighbours door with the offer of help if you are able to provide it.
HERE’S WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO TO HELP
Pray for our community and those directly affected by COVID-19. Pray for the health care workers that are treating the sick and those public health officials who are making difficult decisions. Pray that God would protect our community from further spread of the virus.
Reflect Christ. In these anxious days, the church (all of us) can shine as a light of hope, care, faith, patience and prudence. We can demonstrate, for the world, how our faith provides true assurance against worry and fear.
Practice & recommended personal hygiene. Wash your hands frequently. Avoid contact with the sick. Stay at home. Government guidelines are chaining rapidly, stay up to date here for the latest guidance - www.gov.uk/coronavirus
